The 29th Essen Welding & Cutting Fair in Beijing closed on July 2, and AOTAI's booth was packed with visitors from start to finish. The turnout reaffirmed AOTAI's position as a leader in China's welding industry and gave the world a close look at its green, efficient, and intelligent welding equipment and processes.

AOTAI's booth had a fresh new look this year — but what really drew the crowds was what was on the machines, not the signage. Here's a walk-through of the smart, efficient, and eco-friendly welding technology on display.
1. ASMT Temperature-Controlled Welding Station
Compared with conventional processes, ASMT temperature-controlled welding delivers spatter-free, ultra-low-heat-input welds. On aluminum alloys, it cuts porosity and produces a clean, even ripple pattern — what welders often call a "stack of dimes." It also supports 3D arc-additive manufacturing for complex parts and overlay repair on high-end equipment.
2. Scan-to-Weld System for Transformer Radiator Fins
A high-precision solution built specifically for transformer fin welding:
Parametric programming — adapts easily to different product specs
One-touch scanning — automatically locates weld seams
Broad coverage — works across oil-immersed transformers, corrugated fins, plug welds, and more
Platform-agnostic — compatible with FANUC, Siasun, Efort, Hikvision, Nabot, and other robot platforms, as well as dedicated welding stations
Open architecture — exposes underlying data for customer-side development
3. Robotic Automatic Tube-to-Tubesheet Welding System
AOTAI's new dual-head, vision-guided tube-to-tubesheet welding system features:
Dual-camera imaging — two independent camera feeds cover both work stations at once, with a cross-slide carriage for precise, self-correcting positioning
Simultaneous dual-head operation — primary and secondary heads work in parallel, nearly doubling throughput per joint, with built-in anti-collision safeguards and automatic clearance control
Smart fit-up — a row-by-row welding sequence controls thermal distortion on fixed tubesheets, while a smart fit-up algorithm optimizes pairing globally to minimize unmatched joints — significantly boosting efficiency
AI Welding Zone

AOTAI also introduced its new welding AI agent, the AOTAI Smart Partner app. Built on the idea of going "from conversation to execution," it draws on more than 30 years of AOTAI's process know-how, field experience, and equipment data — acting as a process expert, maintenance specialist, and commissioning engineer rolled into one. In effect, it puts the company's full technical bench at a single user's fingertips. AOTAI's welding machines, group-control systems, vision systems, and welding lines are now all linked to this AI agent, turning them into AI-capable smart equipment that reduces dependence on any single operator's skill, shortens setup time, and gets more out of every machine.
Manual Welding Demonstrations
Vibration hot-wire TIG welding — Combining automatic wire feed with a hot-wire mechanism, this process triples the efficiency of conventional manual TIG welding. A vibrating wire feed also agitates the weld pool, keeping it fluid and producing strong sidewall wetting for higher weld quality.
Fast-pulse gas-shielded welding

Built around two core techniques — fast pulse and deep penetration. Fast pulse raises deposition efficiency by 15–30%; deep penetration increases weld depth by 10–30% at the same current, meaningfully improving X-ray pass rates on thick-plate welds. It's a strong fit for steel fabrication and heavy machinery.
Redesigned Machines, New LCD Interface

AOTAI's redesigned machines have a bolder, more industrial look and a new LCD display for a cleaner interface and more intuitive controls. The refreshed lineup spans the AMIG500P-i, AMIG500Pro-i, ATIG400PAC-i, and ATWLaser1200-i.
Automatic Welding & Cutting Equipment

Dual-head laser-tracking submerged arc welder — Pairs two submerged-arc welding heads with AOTAI's own laser tracking system to automate torch positioning and pass changes on layered welds — moving submerged-arc welding toward unattended operation and supporting broader factory automation.
Gantry-type CNC welding system — Combines a CNC gantry with a submerged-arc welding system and laser auto-tracking to automatically follow irregular seams on thick-plate joints, solving a common pain point and significantly boosting both automation and welding throughput.
Smart Welding Cloud Platform

The digital experience zone featured AOTAI's Smart Welding Cloud System, the software backbone of its smart-factory offering. Running on IoT and 5G, it links welding data directly to a plant's MES and ERP systems, enabling quality control and providing the data foundation for cost tracking — helping manufacturers digitize their welding operations.
Thousands of visitors and partners stopped by AOTAI's booth over the course of the show. Looking ahead, AOTAI will keep pushing AI deeper into its welding equipment lineup, rolling out more reliable, efficient, and intelligent solutions in step with partners across the industry.
